“From Limitations to Inspiration: The Remarkable Journey of Nick Vujicic”

Nick was born in 1982 in Melbourne, Australia to Dushka and Boris Vujicic. His birth was very distinct as he was diagnosed with a rare disorder called Tetra Amelia Syndrome, because of which he is deprived of 4 limbs and expected to live a limited life. Although it was very difficult for his parents to handle the issues that he faced due to the absence of limbs, they never gave up on him and accepted it as a god’s plan for their child.
Later he got admitted into a mainstream school, where he was exposed to the bullies of children, which added to his distress. The words do hurt, but for Nick, it killed him every day deep inside. He thought that there was no purpose in his existence and that his life was a complete waste. The misery, humiliation, mental and emotional torture made him attempt suicide but the love and support of his parents prevented him from making such absurd moves.
Parenting Of Nick
A good deal of what we are is a result of the values inculcated in us by our parents and when it comes to the life of a differently-abled child these values outweigh everything else.
This is what exactly Nick’s parents did. They always instilled a spirit of faith in him and firmly resolved not to be bothered by the attitude and thoughts of society about their child. The great lessons imparted by his parents taught him that there is no limit to what a human being can achieve despite his disability.
Excerpt from raising the perfectly imperfect child :
At the age of nineteen, I announced plans for my first international speaking tour. I had arranged to travel to South Africa with the goal of giving away twenty thousand dollars in savings to needy orphans there.
My parents strongly objected to this audacious plan, as you might imagine. They were concerned for my safety while journeying through a rugged part of the world in a wheelchair. And they were shocked that I would dish out my hard-earned nest egg at such a young age.
I reminded them that they’d always said there were no limits on my life, and every single night of my childhood they’d made sure I prayed and asked God to help the poor children of the world.
“You planted the seeds for this!” I said. They were not amused, but they did not stand in my way. Mum and Dad are still sometimes taken aback by my big dreams and adventurous spirit, but they are always encouraging and willing to pitch in.
Turning Point In Nick’s Life
Nick was always behind finding a convincible answer to understand why God made him the way he is.
For which Nick says that, while he was going through the bible, he was fascinated by an amazing story from John ch 9, where he discovers that, one-day lord Jesus encountered a blind man and the people around him questioned the lord for the reason behind the man’s blindness; to which, Jesus gave an unpredictable reply by saying that he was born blind so that the works of God would be revealed through him. That moment was a turning point in his life. He believed if God had a plan for the blind man he would surely have a plan for him as well.
Reading the Bible changed the vision of his life. He felt like he was in God’s grasp and he won’t let him down. He began embracing himself the way he was and started following the path of god.
How Nick Found His Life Purpose?
Arnold, a janitor at his school was the first person who relentlessly insisted him to become a speaker. Nick thought to give it a chance and trust me, he found the purpose of his life which is to be an inspirational orator. Gradually, he observed that the sensation of inferiority complex and isolation no longer suffocated him. He found that self-confidence and belief to face individuals.
He decided to share his life story and inspire others to better their lives and the world around them. Nick believes that God chose him to tell each and everyone that they are too precious to him and he will never give up on them. With this purpose, he started giving speeches in various churches which extended to public high schools and presently in more than 45 countries.
Nick’s Achievements
Today, he is one of the greatest motivational speakers on the earth inspiring millions to never give up on their dreams and god’s vision.
In 2005, he established an NGO named, Life Without Limbs, with a motive to surpass the barriers that people confront and to introduce them to Lord Jesus, who has a purpose for everyone. He wishes to connect people to Jesus by praying with them and for them so that everyone can start living their own life without limits.
As Nick himself has experienced nightmares while he was bullied by his friends, he launched an initiative named “Attitude Is Altitude “ in which he teaches students how to make good changes in their lives and communities.
The way he became a painter, swimmer, skydiver, writer, entrepreneur, actor, and so on demonstrates that fear is the biggest disability than physical impairment, as it always limits ur mind and diverts it from your goal.

Sometimes we ponder too much on problems that we face or lament over things we can’t change in our life that we take no notice of the blessings of God. Always develop the feeling of gratitude, that God gave us enough reason to be happy about. Just like Nick’s life without limbs helped him find God in the darkest times of life.
It’s totally surprising to see a person who was on the verge of ending his life, is inspiring millions to find their life’s purpose and to never surrender. His faith in God has been his major source of confidence to build a delightful life.
He also teaches us that it doesn’t matter how you look on the outside, all that matters is what’s on the inside.
