Cherishing Memories

After long periods of anticipation, our college has finally reopened. It was great to physically go to college and meet everyone after months of frustration due to online classes.

Venturing out of the home after so long, I thought why not just make the most of it? A beautiful sunny day with a light wind blowing, made me feel that nature also appeared to be content with DU’s announcements.

One of my friends was so excited that he came before the gatekeeper arrived. Gradually, we got into the college and started finding our room. It didn’t feel like we had met for the first time, as everyone was already sitting with their groups.

Our teacher entered the classroom and expressed her happiness about visiting college and meeting us all physically. After introducing ourselves, the teacher talked about the historical backdrop of our college and how much we should be proud about getting admission to it. She told about the success stories of alumni and various societies that we should take part in.

Most importantly, she delivered a beautiful message that one should not get disheartened when one confronts failures.

“ Life should go on “, don’t just stick to the regret of failure.

After the class ended, we all headed toward the playground. We sat under the shade of a tree and started talking to each other. Each one of us was different: tall or short, fat or thin, black or white, rich or poor, belonged to different religions, and spoke different languages. But that is not something we were bothered about. We started loving each other’s company. We were like a family.

“Everyone is beautiful in their own way.”

Then we started playing truth and dare and as usual, had to face many embarrassing questions. But it was fun. We clicked many pictures together and it was time for everyone to reluctantly go back home.

“The most beautiful things are not related to money; they are memories and moments. If you don’t celebrate those, they can pass you by.”
